your MobileApp in all Languages
If your app has proven successful in English, it makes sense to expand the users base by localizing the application into other languages. We provide localization mobile applications localization into all commercial languages. Localization involves a variety of tasks that happen throughout your development cycle and it pays to be prepared in advance.
Before proceeding with your mobile application localization journey, you need to make sure that your application is ready and that it is localizable, which is done through internationalization. If your app’s content is all hard-coded, then it cannot be localized by changing the content according to different locales. Internationalization is preferably done in parallel with the development process. It won’t directly impact your development process and isn’t that much of a hassle, but it will be extremely useful and timesaving when and if you decide to localize your app.
Mobile Application Localization Process
After making sure that your mobile application is ready for localization, IntlSight’s professional teams go through the Mobile Application Localization process below, with the assistance of the experienced Localization Engineering team and developers.
In IntlSight, we guarantee providing Mobile Application Localization services in high level of quality passing through the described below 13 steps for Mobile Application.
1- REVIEW THE LOCALIZATION KIT
Our professional project managers study and analyze the client’s request and the mobile application functionality to understand the subject matter, target language(s) and select the most suitable linguistic team for the project.
2- CONFIRM THE PROJECT SCOPE
The dedicated project manager confirms the project scope and the target language(s) and locale(s) with the client to be aware of the ideal completion deadline, the format of the translated content, the approved terminology, and style guide to follow.
3- CONTENT CUSTOMIZATION AND PREPARATION
One of the first and most fundamental steps of mobile application localization process is to get all the text and images/graphics in the application translated and localized into the target language(s). This is usually done using an XML or XLIFF (XML Localization Interchange File Format) file, which includes all of the text strings in the mobile application so that they can easily be translated into other languages.
4- COST AND TURNAROUND TIME ESTIMATION
IntlSight project manager prepares a quote with the assistance of our experienced Localization Engineers and estimates the turnaround time.
5- PROJECT KICKOFF
After sharing the quotation with the client and getting an approval on the cost, project scope and turnaround time, the project manager kicks off the project for translation.
6- TRANSLATION, EDITING AND PROOFREADING
Translations are performed by a base translation team and edited and proofread by a second linguistic team with higher experience. All translations are completed by human translators, using translation memory (TM) technologies and QA tools to ensure an efficient and consistent translation.
7- LINGUISTIC QUALITY ASSURANCE AND QUALITY CONTROL
After TEP step is completed, we assure the translation quality by running different QA tools to check translation consistency, terminology consistency, punctuation, forgotten translations, numbering, …etc.
8- LOCALIZATION ENGINEERING
After getting the software text translated into the target language(s), IntlSight’s engineering team imports the translated text into the application and conduct any required engineering tasks like layout flipping (for BiDirectional languages), images localization, cultural adaptation for non-text content, …etc.
9- FUNCTIONAL AND LOCALIZATION TESTING
Functional testing is conducted by our testing engineers on different devices to ensure the localized application works just the same as the source version and that it functions properly. Linguistic teams test the localized application from the linguistic prospective and verify the translation is complete and consistent across the application.
10- APP STORE CONTENT TRANSLATION
It makes a very good sense to have the application related store (App Store and Google Play) content translated into the target language(s). The store content is extracted for translation (either by IntlSight’s engineering team or provided by the customer) to be translated into the target language(s).
11- FIRST DELIVERY (DRAFT)
IntlSight project manager shares a draft version of the localized mobile application with the customer to approve the translation and provide any feedback or comments.
12- CLIENT COMMENTS REVIEW AND IMPLEMENTATION
The linguistic team reviews and implements the customer feedback and the engineering team prepares the final version to deliver to the client.
13- FINAL DELIVERY AND FILES ARCHIVING
Project manager delivers the final localized and QA’ed mobile application to the client and engineering team updates the Translation Memories to make use of the already translated content in future projects.
After that, our project manager will be still available to receive any feedback or comments from the customer on the delivered translation, and IntlSight team will review and implement in the localized application.
